As documented by the maps of the Institute of Oceanography that you can find in our site, it is not only one of the cleanest in the Aegean but also one of the cleanest in the world because of the strong underwater currents in the area, that constantly renew the seawater. To avoid surface pollutants that would require further processing, water is pumped 500 meters from the coast and from specific depths.
The authentic Himalayan salt is a mineral ore and cannot be compared to unique & natural, non-refined Aegean Sea Crystals. Being a mineral itself, the Himalayan salt cannot be easily expelled from the human body, thus burdening the kidneys’ function.
Rock salt is good, but it can’t be flawless since it is exposed to environmental pollutants (ship waste, bird dirt, etc.). Therefore, it must be thoroughly washed and undergo a minimum process that cannot guarantee the desired purity levels. Moreover, even the slightest process causes the reduction of the water soluble minerals they contain. The same applies to salt from sea salt marsh.
They can be used exactly like cooking and table salt to flavor raw and/or cooked food.
